In a thrilling culmination at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, the IPL 2024 Auction witnessed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) making strategic moves to fortify their team for the upcoming season. Notably, SRH secured six impactful players, with the Australian duo of Pat Cummins and Travis Head being the headline acquisitions. Cummins, the World Cup-winning sensation, fetched a historic bid of Rs. 20.50 crore, setting a new record for the IPL auction. This record, however, was later surpassed by Mitchell Starc’s staggering Rs. 24.75 crore deal with the Kolkata Knight Riders.

SRH focused on strengthening their bowling arsenal by bringing in Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs. 1.5 crore and Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat for Rs. 1.60 crore. The team rounded off its auction purchases with Akash Singh and Jhathavedh Subramanyan, each secured for Rs. 20 lakh.
